This world doesn’t move without Black women, so it’s only natural that we lead the global wellness movement. By advocating for change in the information, support and areas of acknowledgment that will help our communities, we are making a way for women to be well and thrive. Our work is pushing to make running and wellness more inclusive and making the prospect of living well attainable for all—both now and for generations to come.

In this spirit, we’ve partnered with HOKA to commission three art pieces that are sure to inspire your next run, workout or self-care session. Each illustration showcases how Black women move the world. Whether we are styling our hair in a protective style before a workout or holding one another accountable on a group run, we are moving the needle a tiny bit closer toward a healthier lifestyle for everyone.

Just like in these illustrations, each moment is an opportunity to showcase how we as women are tackling health and wellness each day, beautifully.

Time To Fly

At the heart of RUNGRL is community. Collectively we move, fly and run together. When we fly together, we get to reclaim our power, celebrate our ability to move and embrace our inner light where we find peace, comfort and joy. Whether we are checking in on a friend to see if they’ve been keeping up with their training plan, or volunteering to run together (safely), it’s the support of the community is truly unmatched. We run together, we recover together and we win together.

The Essentials

The sound and feel of your feet flying as you run is what reminds you of the power you have in every single step. Even when you're alone, you know you're surrounded by a community to virtually cheer you on. They know what it means when they see you out there, what it takes to prioritize your health and the shared challenges and triumphs of Black women in our pursuit of being well.

My Running Hair

Run by run, Black women are dispelling the myth that our hair is a barrier to fitness. With the right tools and information, we can be active consistently, without having to schedule runs and workouts around our hair care. Hair maintenance is no longer an excuse to miss a workout because every day is a good hair day! #MyRunningHair
